Romney Has Massive Lead Over Obama in the South

Yesterday's Gallup poll shows Mitt Romney with his largest lead over over President Obama, 51% to 45%.

The poll was taken before the second presidential debate.

While this looks great for Romney, Markos Moulitsas has taken a more detailed look at the poll internals for Tuesday, which show a somewhat different picture.

Region
Obama
Romney
Margin

East
52%
48%
Obama +4%

Midwest
52%
48%
Obama +4%

South
39%
61%
Romney +22%

West
53%
47%
Obama +6%

In other words,
Obama is going to get creamed in Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, and possibly Florida,
but Colorado and Nevada may not be so bad for him.

Obama Reinforces His Firewall

"As Mitt Romney gains ground in crucial states like Florida and Virginia,
President Obama is taking steps to shore up support in smaller battlegrounds that could prove decisive in a razor-close race," Politico reports.

"That's because if Romney can't put Ohio in his column
-- the Buckeye State has so far proved stubbornly immune to the Republican's gains elsewhere --

he'll need to win most of the remaining swing states to capture the presidency."

eh...bella domanda.

a livello di voto nazionale è sotto,
ma sta tenendo duro negli stati chiave.
per farcela non deve perdere l'Ohio.
credo che la partita si giochi lì.

p.s.

Nate Silver:

http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/

il guro di analisi dei sondaggi ,gli assegna ancora un 70% di possibilità di vittoria.

difficilmente sbaglia...ma c'è una prima volta per tutto.

A Booming Stock Market Under Obama

New York Times:

"Through Friday, since Mr. Obama's inauguration
-- his first 1,368 days in office --

the Dow Jones industrial average has gained 67.9 percent.

That's an extremely strong performance -- the fifth best for an equivalent period among all American presidents since 1900."
