Very Close in Florida
A new Suffolk University poll in Florida shows President Obama barely ahead of Mitt Romney in the presidential race, 46% to 45%.
In January, Romney led by seven points.
Said pollster David Paleologos:
"Despite locking up the Republican nomination and a strong showing in the Florida Republican primary in January,
Romney still has a lot of work to do to win over Florida voters.
He would need to repair the fallout of negativity from the Republican primaries by being more likable and offering general-election voters a positive alternative to President Obama."

Poll Shows Obama Expanding Lead Nationally
A new Fox News poll finds Presdent Obama leading Mitt Romney by seven points nationally, 46% to 39%.
Just three weeks ago the candidates were tied at 46%.
The finding is the reverse of a New York Times/CBS News poll put out earlier this week which found Romney moving into a lead.

Hawaii Pushing Back on the Arizona Secretary of State's Request for Obama's Birth Certificate.
Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett has been pestering the State of Hawaii for a copy of Obama's birth certificate, despite the fact that Obama released it long ago. The Hawaii officials have apparently grown tired of this and have turned the tables of Bennett, asking Bennett to prove he has the legal right to even ask. They could ask him to prove who he is and that he was duly elected Secretary of State as well. No doubt he could produce an election certificate but Hawaii could say that Kenneth Bennett is a common name and could he please prove that he is the one elected as Secretary of State. It could become even more ludicrous than it is now. The Washington Post called Bennett a buffoon today

Iowa Republicans Challenge Obama's Citizenship.
The Iowa Republican Party is "intentionally questioning" President Obama's citizenship with wording in their platform document which calls for presidential candidates to "show proof of being a 'natural born citizen' of the United States," Radio Iowa reports.
Said Don Racheter, chairman of the Iowa GOP's platform committee: "There are many Republicans who feel that Barack Obama is not a 'natural born citizen' because his father was not an American when he was born and, therefore, feel that according to the Constitution he's not qualified to be president, should not have been allowed to be elected by the Electoral College or even nominated by the Democratic Party in 2008, so this is an election year. It's a shot at him."

maremmabbona,
